Apologies…

Both Admins are going on a Hiatus for the next couple weeks. Hopefully we’ll be able to be back and posting by May 5th, but due to the multiple projects and papers being due within the next 3 weeks it will be nearly impossible for us to update, we haven’t been doing such a good job lately either.

Question of the Week #13

We’re horrible horrible Admins I know -__- Scars is distracted with massive amounts of homework from College and Stitches is dealing with family drama. Life is just attacking us right now. Hopefully things will start picking back up here after next week, as long as Scars gets caught up on homework. Anyways on to our question >_>

What is your favorite horror mini series/made for TV movie/show?

Question of the week #12

Super amounts of apologies for our 2 1/2 week unannounced hiatus there. School started dragging us down and over-preoccupying us. Hopefully we’ll keep up after this week, as long as school chills out a bit for us.

What is your favorite “hand-held” horror movie?

Admin Scars Review of The Woman in Black

Got to see this movie last night, finally. I found that this movie was overall pretty good. It wasn’t so much scary as it was extremely suspenseful. The storyline itself was really good, and I look forward to reading the book when I can. Unfortunately, Admin Stitches was unable to join me for this movie, but I will be making her watch it once it comes out on DVD.

Alright on to the actual review. The graphics were pretty well done. The woman was terrifying up close, and the constant appearing/disappearing that was done was just fantastic. The scenery was also gorgeous, when it wasn’t creepy. Even when it was creepy, it was still beautiful in a way, especially as the old house.

The storyline was interesting as well. All the background about the characters came up slowly throughout the movie, rather than all at once at one direct point. I did have a few people tell me they thought that the plot was missing some points in it, but after seeing it for myself I have to disagree. There were no plot holes, it just made you have to pick up the pieces from previous scenes. Or it made you think about what was going on, and let you make the assumptions yourself. The ending was just a tad predictable as well, but it was a sweet ending.

The acting and costuming were fantastic and pretty on spot. The distressed parents and quiet children were done very well. The children actors did very well for their parts. It was also nice to see Daniel Radcliffe in a different role than Harry Potter. He did an amazing job.

I do have to say the movie really isn’t that scary. It’s definitely suspenseful and dark, but not all that terrifying. Although, I did jump quite a bit, which then led to a number of squeals coming from me during the movie. The dolls that were all over the children’s rooms were probably the creepiest things, I don’t do well with porcelain dolls.

On another note, my friends and I couldn’t help cracking Harry Potter jokes throughout the entirety of the film. I felt bad about it slightly, but I really couldn’t help myself, there were just so many moments that they could be made.

Not the best review ever, but I’m exhausted from school, I’ll try better next time

Question of the Week #11

Sorry about being a day late, school just started back up for us yesterday.

What is, in your opinion, the best horror movie in existence?

Silent House directed by Chris Kentis and Laura Lau

Two trailers in one day. I’m feeling pretty accomplished. So, I don’t watch too many Slasher horror movies, but this one is looking pretty good. I do realize it’s an American remake, so I will be downloading the original Uruguayan version to watch before I see it. I don’t know how well this movie will turn out, but I’m hoping it’s good. I have yet to see a Slasher film that’s laid out in ‘real time.’ This trailer definitely raised my anxiety levels. I’m hoping that the actual movie will do the same. What are your guy’s thoughts?

7500 directed by Takashi Shimizu

Alright, this movie isn’t coming out until the end of August, but I’m seriously looking forward to it. Although knowing me, this movie will keep me from airplanes for a while, and I already have issues with them. Main reason I’m looking forward to it? It’s directed by the same person who did the Grudge movies. I can’t wait for more previews of this movie. And I’m really looking forward to seeing how this movie itself will play out. Can’t wait for the end of summer now.

What do you guys think of this preview?

"And number three: never, ever, under any circumstances say “I’ll be right back.” Because you won’t be back."

Scream directed by Wes Craven

Question of the Week #10

Augh, a day late again >_< I’m such a horrible Admin -__- anyways…

What are the worst American remakes of Foreign Horror movies?
